Hello Mr Knox (or anyone who can help me). . .didn't know how else to do
this
i previously wrote this msg:
when going into system configuration/startup, is there anything that would
cause problems if i disabled one thing at a time. . .? need to find what is
causing the "critical stop" sound when loading system tray..
Thanks in advance for any help R E (Gene) Foltz
Mr Doug Knox MS-MVP answered:
As long as what you're unchecking is on the Startup tab, generally, no. No
problems. Be careful disabling anything on the Services tab, unless you know
what you're doing. You can render a machine unbootable.
I have unchecked each item, in msconfig/startup, one at a time and
rebooted after each one. . still get the windows default "critical stop"
sound. . .is there any other way i can track down what is causing the
"critical stop"???? I appreciate any help and thanks in advance R E (Gene)
