Accessing computers on network

I am having trouble accessing a computer on my network of 5 computers. I have
4 on windows 98 and 1 running XP home edition. I can access all from the XP
computer, but the windows 98 computers cannot access the XP computer. Any
ideas?

What error or problem do you see when "the windows 98 computers cannot access
the XP computer"? Do you not see the Windows XP computer from the Windows 98

If you're getting an error message when trying to access "...access denied", and
visibility in Network Neighborhood is NOT a problem, then read about enabling
network access in Windows XP, using Simple File Sharing:

And make sure that NetBIOS Over TCP, the standard for Windows Networking, is
Enabled on all computers:

And look for a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, or other security
component. There are several other possibilities too, and any might be the cause

Do you have firewall apps installed on the XP machine? I had the same
problem a while ago with two PCs that could see each other on the
network, but could not access. Turned out to be ZoneAlarm's "zones" setting.
