Hello

I want to set up my computer so my son can use it but I don't want him to
have access to a 2nd hard drive it hold file I need for work.
I'm running windows xp home

Thank You

Boot the system, start tapping F8, when the menu appears, select Safe Mode,
once in Safe Mode, decline the option to go to System Restore, open Windows
Explorer, go to Tools, select Folder Options, go to the View tab, scroll the
list to "Simple file sharing," remove the check next to it, click apply and
ok.

Now, right click the drive in the drive list in Explorer, select Sharing and
Security, go to the Security tab, be sure your son's user name is not in the
list, if it is, remove it. Reboot, log onto your son's user account and
test to be sure he cannot access the drive.
