access to xp pro pc

Have a p2p network with win 2000 pc named Frontdesk connected to a xp pro pc
named backroom through a hub. Both belong to workgroup named workgroup. XP pc
can see and access Frontdesk, however the Frontdesk pc can see but not access
the backroom pc. When at the command prompt at the Frontdesk pc and using the
net use command it shows \\backroom\IPC$. The pcs have static ips and can
ping each other. They connect to the internet through their respective
modems. Any help would be appreciated.
