Access Private Documents

I have currently had a problem with the boot sector of my
hard drive and can no longer load my windows system
(windows XP home edition). I can now no longer access
my "private" documents files. Is there anyway to bypass
this security measure and access these documents when the
hard drive is hooked up to another computer? Please help.
