Access files on a domain using media center OS

I am trying to access some resources on my W2K domain with a PC running XP
Media Center 2005. I can see the Media PC from the network but not access
it. I cannot see the network from the Media PC. The workgroup name is the
same as the domain. Can anyone help? I am afraid I will need somewhat
detailed advice.

My understanding about Media Center Edition is that if your machine came
with the most current version installed (IOW you didn't upgrade from an
earlier version of Media Center), it cannot join a domain. However, you
can use domain resources. Here's a link about using XP Home on a
domain; it should be applicable to your machine also.

Steve,

Your asymmetrical display / access problem is most likely a browser issue. Now,
the browser is NOT the program that you surf the web with, it's the program that
provides you the list that you see in Network Neighborhood. The browser
problem, however, may only be a symptom of another problem, so we must explore
other things first.
Misconfigured / overlooked firewalls:

Registry setting restrictanonymous:

Now, is this MCE 2005? If so, you will not be able to join your domain, so you
will need workgroup setup, with either Guest or non-Guest authentication setup
properly.

If no help yet, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each
computer, and we can diagnose the problem itself. Read this article, and linked
articles, and follow instructions precisely:
