Access 97 and XP

Hi All,

My PC's OS is XP (SP-1), we have old access program in
Access 97, When we install the same Access 97, which is
Arabic enabled, It is not starting up, but showing a
message in Arabic. The other office application like,
Word, Excel are working fine.

Any anyone tell me the solution.

I don't know if Arabic makes a difference, Manoj, but the problem is fairly
common. As you mention Word and Excel, I am assuming you are running Office
97. The Arabic notice is probably referring to the PC having no licence to
run Access.

You can try this....

Have the Office 97 CD handy and its Product Key.

Close all open apps.

Open Search and locate the file hatten.ttf. When it comes up, change the
name to hatten.xxx. Minimize - do not close - the search window.

Go to Control Panel/Add or Remove Programs and uninstall Office 97. When it
has done - reinstall Office 97.

When Office 97 has been reinstalled, maximize the search window and rename
hatten/xxx back to hatten.ttf. Close the window.

All should now be okay.
