Access 97 and Excel XP

Eric

Hi All,

I have a problem that I am hoping you can clarify for me.
I built a database with in mind that Access/Excel 97 would
be on the PC. Well, the user has upgraded from Windows NT
to Windows XP and has Excel 2002 installed on that PC.
Myself, being the developer, only have Access/Excel 97 on
my machine. Everything works great until she exports a
report (Analyze with Excel). It gives a error that the
sheet had a invalid file name but was able to repair it.

Has anyone had to code in Access 97 for Excel 2002/XP but
still had Excel 97 on their machine?

You can't really expect Access 97 to know or understand the existence of
Excel 2002. In addition to the problem of future version, you also have the
problem of data storage which in versions 2000 and later is in Unicode. You
may want to finish your application and have it converted to Access 2000 or
2002.
