Access 2007 opening older versions of Access databases

I know Access 2007 will open 2007 and 2003 versions of a database, but will
it also open Access 2000 files? We have all these versions running and they
all need to be able to access the same files.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it can open Access 2000 files, but if you need to open the files in
access 2000 as well, be very careful.

I've run across a bug in my configuration (even with 2007 SP1) where
changing the column widths in 2007 will corrupt the 2000 database so the
query can no longer be viewed in Access 2000, with the result that access
closes without warning.

No-one else has verified this so far as I know, but it certainly happens
every time on my systems.

Thanks all for the help and advice. After additional information was given,
it turns out the database sits on a server 250 miles away and is being
connected to via a WAN link, bonded T1s. It opens immediately from Access
2003 and we also found that it opens a multitude of tables, forms, layouts,
etc. I think it is a matter of how long it is taking Access 2007 to open mdb
files across a relatively slow link. And since this file has to be viewed
and edited by all parties, I am recommending that the IT department that is
hosting the database, have a machine with Access available that the user can
run remote desktop to and run it locally in their office.
