trying to run access 2003 database in access 2007

We have always kept older versions of all databases since we have tons
of peopel with A97 2000 2003 and NOW 2007 installed.

Well yesterday a person gets a new computer with office 2007
installed. They open their database (made in access 2003) they are
entering data BUT they can not save the data. After 3 or 4 tries they
said it started saving data. Then on doubleclick we had a little code
to set it to default...well that does not work in 2007. Then
everything stopped working.

HOW and what do I need to set in the database so a 2007 install can
use the database ?

I am lost

thank you very much for the information.

since access 2007 does not use uses the security it finds in the
2003 database and applied user-level security to that database.

I thought since the 2003 database had no security then 2007 would not
impose security on it.

Just tried this and that used errored say they didn't have permission
to set a trusted zone. I had them call IT about this.

Well they are trying to figure this one out. There are 3 access 2003
databases in this directory. He can edit and work in 2 fine, the new
one is the one causing the problems. All of these databases were done
by me and I have no problems. I told the IT people it sounded like
some type of permission error on their part. I head every excuse in
the world about how it COULD NOT BE anything they had done.

Sparks,

1. Are the databases split?
2. Is the directory listed in the Trusted Zone?
3. If the databases are split do they have READ, WRITE to the folder AND
subfolders where the databases BE's are?
4. Can the one that is giving problems be opened on another machine by
anyone else with no issues?
5. Are the databases accessing ANY external files? (This answer should be
'No')
6. Is there ULS applied to any of the databases? (This answer should be
'No')

If the answer to all the above is yes, expect 5 and 6, then I am stumped...
and I would suggest the IT people just LOOK and double check.

Actually the IT department likely wouldn't know about the Trusted
Locations problem as it is Office 2007 and newer specific but mostly
affects Access.
