Will Access 2007 run on XP 2002 SP3?

I want to hand over a club database in Access 2003 to a person who is running
XP2002 SP3. She has Access 97, so she needs to update her version of Access.
Can we still purchase Access 2003? Would it be better to purchase Access
2007, assuming it will run on XP2002? Will Access 2007 save to Access 2003
so we can still share the database?
