about:blank - invalid URL when start IE Explorer

I have contracted some kind of bug on one of our PCs; the
URL 'about:blank' is put as the home page when I start up
Explorer. Even if I change the default home page to
msn.com or anything else, it returns to this URL when i re-
start Explorer. Also, the file 'aifind.info' is put into
Temporary Internet files,and is put back if i delete same
and re-start.

This URL showed up on another PC where we had to clear the
System Restore function. It went away once we cleared the
function, but no luck when doing on this latest PC.

any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

check the properties of the button you're clicking on to
open explorer, and make sure it's not a link to that page.

Corrective action - run the CWShredder.

Close all Browser windows and running applications, unzip the tool run the
executable and follow the prompts.
