? about 2 Drive System

I have a two drive setup, C and D. Most times when I access the D
drive it needs to spin up for a few seconds before letting me access
information.

What is causing this drive to spindown in the first place? I don't
know of any settings that are putting this to sleep?

Control Panel, Power Options- Select "Never" for hard disks. You can also
set the power option to Always On.

This is set to NEVER yet the D drive continues to go to sleep.

Check the power management settings in the BIOS. I'm sure that there is an
option for hard drive spin down time there.
