Hi!
I'm using a headphone with my mobo and I noticed a low crackle noise even if
the sound output is muted.

Do you have a solution? Is it a common pb?

Mute the microphone input.

Thanx for the answer but even if ALL output are muted, the pb is the same
with low noise audible with a headphone or with speakers when amplifying the
sound.
The low noise seems to change with HD activity or when I move a window on
the screeen...

Try this :

"I had that kind of problem : high sound from speakers.
You may resolve it by changing your "Digitized Input" setting, in the "Main"
tab, from "Off" to "Aux".

But I've found the cause of the problem...

My Freebox is plugged by ethernet on the nvdia ethernet port.
When I plug my freebox on the 3com port, the problem disappear!!!

It's magic! I've found the solution on a forum but I don't remember the
URL!!!
