Problems with 5.1 speakers and A7N8X GD

Hi NG

I connected my new 5.1 speakers to A7N8X gold deluxe board. I have bios
updated to 1.007 and i am using the newest nforce drivers from nvidia. The
problem is that when i turn the speakers on there is a low irritating noise.
It gets louder when i turn up the master volume.

I have runned the nvidia speaker test (the speakers are not connected via
the mic and line in). I have also tried to connect them via the mic and line
in jacks (as it says you can in the manual 5.7) but that did not work. The
noise is still there. I have muted all the other channels except Master
Volume and Wave. But the noise is still there. When i mute Master Volume the
noise dissapears. Please help me.

Thanks for your time.

Best Regards
Petey

What kind of noise?
Buzz?
Howl?

and for your information there is no such thing an A7N8X Gold deluxe.
The "Gold" is just marketing and is just the same as any A7N8X deluxe(Rev
2.0 if lucky)but comes with WinCinema CD.
Otherwise there is no difference.

Could be it's picking it up off the power line(mains) or off some other
thing.
Are all sliders down other than main/master volume and wave?
If you unplug speakers and connect headphones does it happen?

Turn the volume up loud enough to hear the noise, lower the 6 sliders on
the nVidia control Panel's Speaker Setup for the individual channels and
then test each channel to see if the noise is on a specific speaker(s).
Also, what blocks are checked on that page? I assume your speakers are
analog with 3 plugs.

Yes they are analog and with 3 plugs. I have tried testing them the way you
say i should do. The noise is on all of them. I have tried all check and
uncheck all of the blocks but it the noise is still there. When I mark the
Dolby R Surround block as checked the noise gets weaker but so does the
sound.
