Teamspeak with an A7N8X-DLX

Anyone using Teamspeak with an A7N8X-DLX? I am having some "crackly
noise" issues using directsound and win2k and am curious if anyone
else sees the same problems. I can hear the noise using the "local
test mode" with Teamspeak. In essence, the mic input is unbearably
noisy using the directsound option, yet works nicely using the "wave"
sound device option. This problem is consistent with 2 different
systems I own. I have tried with and without the mic boost. My mic
works properly in other systems and I've also tried using a "quality"
JVC mic with the same undesirable results. The mic input works
perfectly with other programs to record mic input, such as Sound
Recorder, and produces no odd noise during use therewith. I have no
other problems with the soundstorm system, no playback problems at
all, and am using the latest nforce 4.24 driver package (same as 4.27
per nvidias web site).

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Oh, and please don't suggest I change from Uniprocessor to ACPI PC, I
don't have any other problems with the soundstorm system other than
the noisy mic with Teamspeak.

Do a search over on Nforcershq. There are a few people over there
who have used it. If you are a member there, try posting your
query over there.

Crackling can be a symptom of a data underrun/overrun on the
audio chip. While you are searching over on Nforcershq, you
might also search for "crackling", and see if that search term
turns up more symptoms with DirectSound than just Teamspeak.
Possibly a generic solution for DirectSound will fix your
problem as well.

HTH,
Paul

Been there, searched there and posted there also. No response yet
regarding noisy/crackling mic with Teamspeak. Note that all other
aspects of the sound system are void of any crackling, just the mic
input using teamspeak and directsound, and the crackling is more like
background noise rather than an interruption of data b/c the crackling
is overlaid on the mic input signal, fwiw.

Thanks for the search suggestion tho.
