A wrong email address keeps appearing that is not in my contacts

When I enter the first letter of a friends name, an email address appears
that is not his address and is not in my contacts list. I don't seem to be
able to stop it happening and can change the address manually but would like
to make the correct email address appear. Help please!
 
When the address shows up, use the arrow key to highlight it and then simply
delete it.
