A question regarding sfc /scannow

Drew

Does anyone know why when you choose to do sfc /scannow on a 64bit windows
system it scans c :\Windows\ system32? Should it not scan c
:\Windows\system64? or am I just being a little dense here and not thinking
properly

Hi Drew,

Actually, in a 64-bit system the core system files are still under
C:\Windows\system32, and files to run in 32-bit compatibility are under
C:\Windows\syswow64. Sounds backwards, but to alter the core system folder
path would probably require major rewrites of core system files.
