A network cable is unplugged

I get this message a lot. It is random, and unpredictable,
but it means I lose my Internet connection.

I run a wireless network so, strictly-speaking, there is
no cable to get unplugged in the first place.

When it happens, if I click on the network connections tab
it shows that the network bridge is no longer working (a
red cross is superimposed on it)and when I click on that
it shows that no protocols are attached i.e. TCP/IP has
vanished. All I can do is sit and wait. Eventually it
comes back. Sometimes it is in minutes, sometimes it might
take hours.

It is very specific to one machine, running XP
Professional. I can go to another machine and still get
online, so it is not that the ADSL connection has gone
down.

Any ideas?

Any nice household appliances nearby that when switched on cause distortion
on the signal, thus having the connection shut down??
