9800 Pro+Asus P4P800

I have recently been provided with a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and instulled into
my computer.

Intel P4 3.2
1GB PC3200 DDR
Asus P4P800 Mobo
SB Audigy2 Platinum
Wireless-G NIC
Sony CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive
460W PS Enermax

The issue is as follows. Whenever I play my games be it NBA Live 2004, NHL
2004, NFS Underground, Return To castle Wolfenstien, Halo and list of many
more the games all crash or freeze and require a system reboot. I am able
to run the games fine with a Radeon 9200 but have had no luck so far with
higher end graphic crads such the 9600XT and 9800 Pro.

I have tried many of the differnent solutions such as raising the AGP
Voltage, Running at 4X SGP and disabling all the smartgart options.

I do not believe the card has the problem as it works fine in the desktop
and has no problems running the 3dmark03 tests. I was wondering if anyone
knew of or has had similar problems with possibly the motherboard or Ram
that could cause an issue when playing games.

I hate to sound stupid or make you sound stupid but is this a fresh install.

Or over a card like nvidia geforce cough cough did you uninstall the old
video card drivers.

And did you install the newest motherboard drivers itll have youre agp
motherboard drivers in that.

If it was nvidia i would do a clean install xp.

But there are some that have better ideas. But me reinstall an have youre
newest drivers burnt on cd or stored on other partition ready to load after
xp install .

my 2 cents anyway . PEACE

This is a fresh install from a Previous Radeon 9200 which worked without any
issues. No Nvidia cards have ever been installed in the system. Fastwrites
have been tried on and off with the same results of the system crashing
during gameplay.
