Hi,

Is a Radeon 9600 Pro or XT powerfull enough to play games like FIFA and
NBA 2004 at high resolution, with decent FSAA/AF settings on (which
levels?), and with all graphical "whistles and bells" in those games on
AND still retain perfectly smooth, fluid framerates or will I need a
better card then like a 9800 Pro or FX5900 non-ultra?! I don't play many
other games besides sport games like those from EASports but I want to
be able to play them at best conditions, so I don't know if a 9600 Pro
or XT is powerfull enough then for those games (since the card has only
4 pixel pipelines, etc..).

Could those who has such a Radeon 9600 Pro/XT tell me at which
resolution, with which FSAA/AF settings and with how many whistles and
bells on you can still get smooth, fluid framerates in FIFA and NBA
2004?! So what's possible with this card and when does it start to
choke when you raise FSAA/AF settings, resolutions, add all whistles and
bells, etc.. when do the framerates become less smooth if you raise
certain things? What's the limit with this card for EASport games and
what will something like a 9800 pro or FX5900 non-ultra give you more in
these games?!

Please give as much details as possible about the settings you can
make,etc.. without suffering loss in fps! If you have had both a
9800/FX5900nu and a 9600 Pro/XT and can compare, please mention this too
as this would also be very usefull info ofcourse!

I also still wonder if it's usefull for these games to even turn on FSAA
and AF and which levels to choose, because of the performance hit of
those things?! Which levels (2x, 4x, Quality vs Performance, those
things) are recommended for both FSAA and AF in FIFA/NBA 2004 with a
Radeon 9600 Pro/XT vs 9800/FX5900nu cards?!

PS: my system will be a recent Pentium 4 2.8Ghz in case this info
matters.

Thanks in advance for all good feedback!

Mike.

Hi,

Which FSAA and AF settings do you use?! Also, does FSAA and AF make EASport
games look that much better or is it not that important?

PS: what is "nfsu"? Is that an EASports game?

Anybody else who can tell me if a Radeon 9600 Pro/XT is powerfull enough to
smoothly play EAsport games like FIFA/NBA 2004 in high resolution with all
graphical whistles and bells in the options on and to which extend you can set
FSAA and AF levels while retaining smooth, fluid framerates? Or will I need to
get a 9800 Pro or FX5900nu then?! Will these cards give added performance in
EASport games? With which settings will I feel the limit with a Radeon 9600
Pro/XT in FIFA and NBA 2004, etc..?!

Thanks in advance for all good feedback!

Mike.
