!!!! 98 vs. XP !!!!

Franky

I have a geforce 4 mx 460 graphics card, 512 ddr ram and
an athlon xp 2200+ processor. But my in-game graphics are
still lacking, I have 98. If I bought XP would this
improve my graphics power much?
Cheers, Franky!

Please take some time and read some other posts to see
how many people are having problems upgrading to XP.
This is not to say you would have problems but word to
the wise. Also read the Microsoft website upgrade:

Davey, you need to update the drivers for one thing. Windows XP comes with
graphics (and other) drivers written by the various hardware manufacturers
in the summer of 2001, prior to XP's release that October.

Secondly, make sure you are running the built-in firewall to protect your
system from the Internet, and visit Windows Update to download all the
updates.

If graphics performance / gaming is what you're after,
you should upgrade to at least a Ti model nVidia card.
The MX is a low end product by today's standards.

I play all my games on XP and get great results. If you
have really old games though, keep the dual boot option
when you install XP to use them. You'll find yourself
not using that partition much if at all though once you get
used to the stability, performance and handling of XP. :)

| What I did is buy a brand new winXP and keep win98 for
| real personal offline stuff. Transfer between over using
| CD/diskettes.

| Good luck.....

NO! XP will not improve your graphics power! XP will still give you the
same lacking in-game graphics, since your video card is not powerful. Your
best solution is to change the video card to a TI model or even an FX model
(more $$$$$$).

Also, depending on which game, some in-game graphics are not great!!!
