Direct 3D trouble

P

Phil P

Since I updated from win 98 to win xp, I experience
serious problems with DirectX. Using DxDiag, I found out
that the problem was Direct3D. All the tests are failed.

I use a 1.2 Ghz Athlon, 512 Mb memory and a NVDIA Geforce
2 GTS/ Geforce 2 pro graphic card. I updated my graphic
card and Direct X drivers, but it doesn't seems to change
anything.

It is very frustrating sonce I can't play any game
involving 3d...

Any idea how to solve the problem?

Thanks

Hi Phil P,

One possible solution would be to update your Chipset Drivers as per
my website: http://www3.sympatico.ca/nibblesnbits/Video.html#v11

Did you do a clean install or did you "upgrade" the Windows 98 install to
XP?

First thing I'd try along with what Jimmy suggested is to uninstall the
video drivers completely, reboot, boot into safe mode (start pressing F8
just before you get the Windows XP logo) and then install the newest video
drivers.

If you have a VIA chipset, make sure you have the 4in1 drivers.
