Direct3d unavailable

in dxdiag its telling me direct3d is unavailable, yet i
have the latest graphics card drivers and direct x 9.
Its a nvidia geforce 4 mx 420, any ideas if this
incompatible?

Hi Aaron
It shouldn't be incompatible, Did you install any drivers for your
motherboards chipset from its manufacturer? Also in Display Properties >
Settings tab > advanced button > troubleshooting tab, is hardware
acceleration set to full?

This could also be the VIA chipset with NVidia graphics card problems too.
