873148 - "Access is denied" XP Service Pack 2

Per the subject KB this issue has to do with registry
permissions.

When I check the log file per the KB I can't discern
which registry Key is the issue.

Below is a partial log listing.

1146.718: Access is denied.
2356.015: Message displayed to the user: Access is denied.

2356.031: Service Pack 2 installation did not complete.

Select 'OK' to undo the changes that have been made.

installation did not complete.

You receive an "Access is denied" error message when you try to install
Windows XP Service Pack 2

Hi

You need to look in setupapi.log, and you will most likely need to
enable Verbose logging to see what keys have a problem.
