4.5 min. to shutdown

For several days now I'm experiencing long delays shutting down. From the
time I press Start/Turn Off Computer it takes 2min 15 sec. before the blue
screen which offers Restart or Turn Off Computer and then another 2min 15sec
before it turns off completely. I can speed up the process by
CTL/ALT/DELETE then TURN OFF , in which case it takes 2 min 15sec.
