3 computers, only one can see all others

Guest

I have followed practically all suggestions made in the numerous threads
published in this panel and spent 2 long days on it.

I have 3 computers in a network through a router. All OS are windows XP SP2.
The computer I call "telectro-so" sees the other 2 computers, the other 2
computers called "notebook " and "telectro-ilnkup" can see each other but the
assigned browser "telectro-so".

I can ping all computers from any one computer.

I am including the browstat and ipconfig which shows the famous ERROR 53.
Beleive me I have followed to the letter every suggestion mention in Chuck's
threads to no avail.

Joaquin,

Try removing IPV6, aka Teredo Tunneling, from JOE-NOTEBOOK and telectro-ilbkup.

THANK YOU !! Removing the Microsoft TCP/IP version 6 from the list it did
solve the problem imediately.
In my many attempts to solve the problem you have solved I did 2 things I am
not sure of. Of course it works now so why bother right?. But just for my
education, please tell me what would be the correct setting:

1.- In User Accounts I did turn ON the Guest account in all 3 PC's (it was
always OFF).
2.- In Network Connection->Change Settings of connec.->Authentication, I
cleared the "Enable IEEE 1x authentication..."

Once more thanks a lot

Joe,

You have to work on network problems from the bottom up.

http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/08/solving-network-problems-tutorial.html

The last step in my troubleshooting guide, that you used, points to the complete
troubleshooting guide, with network structure diagnostics.

Guest authentication (or non-Guest IFF available) is necessary for File Sharing
to be accessed. IEEE 1x authentication is a WiFi authentication protocol.
Depending upon your LAN, both (or neither) may be required. They are two
totally separate concepts.
# Disable IEEE 1x authentication, unless you have a Radius server, to get WiFi
connectivity to the LAN.
# Enable Guest, to get file sharing ability on any server.
