2000 server problem workgroup

HELP! I have a win2000 server with 8 clients running no
domain, just a workgroup and no dhcp, all static IPs. I
just built a win2000 machine and I can not see the server,
I can ping the ip of the server, But I cant get the
client to see the server, I tried to share a folder and
that didnt help either....

Do you have the same workgroup name on the new machine?
kind of a silly idea, but sometimes overlooked

Is NetBIOS enabled in the TCP/IP properties for the network connection? If
no, you must enable it. If you dont know how, search for it in Help on the
start menu.
