Hi all,
After years of no problems whatsoever, a couple of things have happened
recently that is causing me some concern. One one Win2K Server the other day
it seemed to just shutdown and I see this in the event log:

"The previous system shutdown at 10:00:05 AM on 09/9/2004 was unexpected. "

And now another of our servers has done the same, "The previous system
shutdown at 5:30:09 PM on 11/9/2004 was unexpected. "
Does anyone know what could have caused this ?

cheers,

Adam

While it may not help, I had a couple XP computers that were doing that.
I tried for months to fix them. I could duplicate the problem on those
machines just by opening Outlook, Word, Excel and boom, the machine
would reboot - like a power cycle. I changed all hardware, installed a
new computer, etc.... Nothing was the same on those two stations (even
new stations). As it turns out it was a corrupt profile. Deleted it and
recreated it and the problem went away.

Change it to not automatically reboot upon receiving a stop error. Right
click my computer and go to properties to find that option. This way you'll
get a better clue. Also run windows update - may be sasser or some other
virus.
