Hello, may I kindly get help with 2 windows problems?

(1) I get a "sysfader" popup when I try to shut off my computer, saying "Not
responding.Click on 'End Now'", but I must click MANY times on "End Now" and
still doesn't shut off so I must unplug it because shutting off from the
tower doesn't do it either! I don't know if I have such sysfader program in
my puter - not in panel control and not in add-ons. Someone said Ad-Aware
(Lavasoft) may be causing the problem, and still someone else said it's
caused by SpaybotSD. Any ideas how to fix?

(2) The update to Windows XP Service Pack 3 (KB936929) has been popping up
on me to install. But I heard bad references about it, and also learned it
requires much more memory and other resources than I have or care to add, so
I don't want to install it. The icon is waiting in my taskbar and frequently
pops up to urge me to update. I don't know how to get rid of it. Anybody
knows please?

I regularly do all the possible scannings and other maintenance. Thanks ever
so much for any help!) Adela

Read up on this article, and how to disable sysfader.

What exactly system resources do you have ie memory (ram) size of hd, cpu
speed, etc. if you have 1 gig of RAM and 4-5 Gig of HD space available it
should do just fine for sp3, I have it and it hasn't caused me any problems
at all.

Hi sgopus, I don't think I have as much as you do, I have this which I took
from Belarc:

Dell Dimension XPS T450MHz Pentium III
385MB RAM.

PROCESSOR:
450 megahertz Intel Pentium III
32 kilobyte primary memory cache
512 kilobyte secondary memory cache

DRIVES:
40.05 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity
27.61 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space

I'm sorry if I gave you more info than you need but I hope it's the right
one?

I heard from people who updated to SP3 and are unhappy...You said to read up
on an article...did you forget to include the link?)

Thank you very much! Adela

yes I did, thanks, here it is.

you really should upgrade the amount of memory you have to at least 512M
or one Gig this would help with system speed a bit.

I think you have enough space available on the hard disk.

I heard from people who updated to SP3 and are unhappy...

Only because they didn't prepare their operating system properly!

You'll need to upgrade to SP3. In the not-so-distant future, you won't be
able receiving security updates/patches for your WinXP operating system.

This is because most of the problems come from NOT reading instructions...
