2 OS, cd's don't work

I have two different operating systems (window 98, and
XP). My 2 cd's work in 98, but not in XP. Can any tell me
how to fix???

BTW...Sender's name is the first part of the email addy.

I'm sure this is a problem Windows XP and Windows 2003 Server. I have it
too. It will appear only on some CD-ROMs.
It happens some times.

Workaround:
Open the Disk Management, right click on the CD-ROM device and click Change
Drive Letter And Paths... Click Remove. Now mount the drive into an empty
NTFS folder and close the Disk Management console. Insert the disk, it
should load it now. Open the NTFS folder, the files on Your CD-ROM are now
there.

Problem description:
If a process make a request to read the CD/DVD device while the disk is
loading, some devices may go mad and won't read the disk. May be a new
device is a good suggestion too, but there is a software problem for sure.
