I have two computers on a new network with registered to
the name. I am getting a an identity already exists
warning. Is it possible to change the register to name
of one of the computers?

You are saying that you have 2 machines that have the same machine name?
Yes, you will have to rename one of them.

Right Click on "My Computer" and choose properties.
Then go to the Computer Name tab and change the name.

No not the computer name. In XP when you set up the name
as the registered owner the name is the same as
registered owner. When you go to system and look at the
registerd to. That is what is the same and I am getting
a warning identity already exists. Name of the computers
are different for the network.

I think I answered this already today..
I did! In XP General!

You mean the owner info?

Or do you mean the computer name?

Ok, got it now, but I have to tell you that while it is possible to change
the registered to name (see the other reply), it is NOT required. It is
perfectly OK to have 2 (or 200) machines registered to the same name. Your
problem is stemming from something else.
