I have two computers running XP with the same registered
name on a network. I want to know if it is possible to
change the registered name?

Hi there,

Ya, you can do that you that, apply this patch:
Change Registered Owner and Organization
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/changeownerorg.vbs

NOTE: If your anti-virus software warns you of a "malicious" script, this
is normal if you have "Script Safe" or similar technology enabled. These
scripts are not malicious, but they do make changes to the System Registry.

Thanks I will try it.
