2 BSE-Now Nothing

In the course of several sessions of playing a game (Gold Miner), my computer
kept quitting with a Internet Explorer has experienced a problem and needs to
close error. I was not on line at the time. Each time I rebooted my computer
except for the last. The last time I attempted to restart the game and got a
blue screen error: STOP: 0x000000F4 (00000003, 0x82DF8748, 0x82DF88BC,
0x805FA160) Beginning dump of physical memory...and a countdowm of numbers
began. I shutdown the computer and when I restarted it did not boot up all
the way so I restarted it again. The blue screen error came up again without
the countdown. Since then I have not been able to get the computer to come up
past the black screen and now it says Reboot and Select proper Boot device or
Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device. Do I have a virus, hardware or
software problem? What if anything can I do to get my computer back? It is a
T2985 emachine running xpprofessional

An e-machine seldom has the tools you would have to have to fix such a
fundamental problem. If you cannot boot up to run commands, you are stuck
with trying to find a boot disk of the setup files. E-machines don't include
any such disks, and you will have to contact the maker of the system, or
some friend who can supply the boot media you would need. The Recovery
Console would allow you to run a few fix commands, like 'CHKDSK /R', and
others, but the boot disk would be the first requirement.
