16-bit trouble?

P

Per Odegaard

When I start a 16-bit programme that I'm using every day, my PC has
developed an annoying habit - it blanks/blacks out when that programme is
started and stopped. Not every time - so after a couple of reboots I usually
succeed starting it.

The computer has been scanned for virus and other irregularities, and I've
restored its settings to those a week ago - before the problem came up the
first time - without solving it.

What else should I be looking for or try?

Regrads,
Per Odegaard.

I'd like to tell whoever might be interested that I'ved solved the problem.
A file called NTVDM.EXE, residing in C:\WINDOWS\PREFETCH, had become
corrupted.
When deleted, a copy of NTVDM.EXE was automatically fetched into the
PREFETCH folder, and afterwards my 16-bit programme started (and stopped) as
it should and had done in the past.

Cheerio,
Per Ø.
