100% CPU Usage

Am having the same 100% CPU usage after hooking off-board
CD ROM to my laptop. SVC Host running 3X. Problem
resolves when CD-Rom disconnected. Also, System tries to
install "Unknown Device" at boot up. Any ideas?
 
3 svchost is normal. Installing the "off-board CD-ROM" in accordance
with the setup instructions and appropriate drivers will probably fix
the problem.
