10 programs startt at login

every time i login 10 programs start at the same time.
is there a file that says which ones start when windows
opens , i sure would like to close a few .

tab and uncheck the programs you don't want to start.

if you have xp, do START | Run | type msconfig

and look at the startup items to get an idea.
