Hello there, I recently installed a switch/hub as to connect 2 computers
together for printer sharing mostly. Both pcs have XP Pro. I have no internet
connection at this time. One pc, Comp1 is older and has had dial-up internet
which is not used anymore. Comp2 has recently had a clean install of XP Pro.
I ran the Network Setup on both, Network connect through a hub without
intenet access. All appeared well. I configured the IPs on both, Comp1
192.168.0.1, Comp2 192.168.0.2, Subnet mask on both 255.255.255.0. My Network
Places, Veiw Workgroup (MSHOME) PCs shows both PCs on both computers. Comp1
can open Comp2s shared folder/printers, Comp2 can see Comp1, but cannot open
it to view shares. Access denied call the Admin, SP2 on both, Firewall
disabled, Norton 2005 on both, Simple file sharing enabled on both, Checked
all settings the same on both. Help!!, Thank you.

Russ,

Norton What 2005? Norton Internet Security bundles a firewall. Make sure NPF
isn't involved!

Check for a browser conflict - run browstat from both computers.
