using dial up and sharing

Local intranet. 1 computer with XP Pro, 1 with XP Home.
Is it possible for each to connect with dial-up and use
the internet sharing connection also. (Example: Comp1 is
host with XP Pro, Comp2 is with XP Home, Both have dial-
up, but can Comp2 be configured to connect when Comp1 is
already connected?)

Thanks,

Thanks,

Each computer can connect to a dial-up Internet connection
independently.

You can enable ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) on either computer,
but not on both of them simultaneously. If you want the computers to
share a dial-up connection, pick one computer to be the host, enable
ICS on that computer, and configure the other one as an ICS client.

Then can they use both connections? i.e. If my computer
is the host, can our secretary use both dial-up and the
ICS client status? If so, what does she need to do to
switch between the two?

Thanks

If you enable ICS on the host, the client computer can share the
host's connection. At any time, the client computer can dial and use
its own connection. When your secretary hangs up the client's own
connection, it will automatically use the host's shared connection
again. She doesn't need to do anything to switch between them.
