Firewall problem when sharing internet connection

D

DoBash

Both computers have all updates installed (incl SP2).
Computer1 has XP professinal.
Computer2 has XP home.
I have home network set manually cos those wizards didnt work. Everything
works on home network. Like file and printer sharing.
Computer1 ip is 192.168.0.1 (homenet work nic). Nic having internet
connection geting ip from dhcp.
Computer2 ip is 192.169.0.2

Comp1 internet connection works fine. Firewall only on nic connected to
internet. Home network nic dont have firewall.

Comp2 trying to access internet thru Comp1. No firewall at all.

IF i disable firewall on Comp1, Comp2 can access websites fine. Everything
seems to work.

But if i have firewall ON on Comp1, only site what seems to work is
Google...Yes, Google works, rest dont. Tried sites like MS, CNN and so on.
Pinging sites works.

Any idea what i need to change on Comp1 firewall?

PS. I hope i made sense. Tried to keep it simple. My english is not that
great :)

What firewall does Comp1 have? Some firewalls, such as the free
version of ZoneAlarm, don't allow Internet Connection Sharing. XP's
built-in Windows Firewall is fine.

What type of Internet connection does Comp1 have -- DSL, cable modem,
etc? How does it connect to Comp1 -- USB, Ethernet, etc?

"mobile broadband" (usb too).

Internet Connection Sharing should work fine with XP's built-in
firewall, particularly if you use the Network Setup Wizard to set it
up. What happened when you tried the Wizard before? I'd give the
Wizard another try.

Ok, back again after trip. And still same problems, heh.

Connection sharing wizard working on computer1 (where i am sharing
connection). Not that it does anything i didnt do manually. On Computer2 (and
3rd computer too) it just stops with message about failing. Using finnish xp
home on comp2 and 3, so i doubt real error message helps much. Just something
like "Error happened during seting up shared connection" or whatever. Nothing
on log files as far as i can see.

So atm most seems to work if i kill Comp1 built-in XP firewall. If firewall
is on, only site seem to work is google. Rest it just trying to open forever.
I am giving up after 10 mins or so.

There seems to be 2nd problem too... I am trying to play this online game
called Everquest. And patcher (game patching itself everytime i start it)
works fine on Comp1. On other 2 computers it just tries till i kill it. No
error messages or anything. Again it just trying to do it, but never geting
thru. IF i close internet connection on Comp1, i get error message after half
min or so (Could not establish a connection). IF connection in on on
Computer1 no error message ever.

I have no idea what to do now. I have gone thru network settings over and
over again...

Network setup again. Tho i think it all way it should be cos pings,
tracerts, telnets, web browsing and so works form computer2 and computer3.

Computer1:
To wan: everything from IPSs DHCP.

To my home network:
IP 192.169.0.1
Mask 255.255.255.0
No delaut gateway
Firewall only connection to "outside". Well, disabled atm to get inernet
browsing work.

Computer2
IP 192.168.0.2
Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.0.1
DNS 192.168.0.1
No firewall(s)

Computer2
IP 192.168.0.3
Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.0.1
DNS 192.168.0.1
No firewall(s)
