WIndows XP Pro peer to peer networking and Linksys router

Hello,

I have two new Windows XP pro pc's plugged into a Linksys WRT54G router. I
ran the Network setup wizard on both computers. On the start menu of comp2 I
see my network places, I do not see it on comp1. (not sure if that is
important) I cannot ping either ip address from the other computer, but when
I run net view from a command line on comp2 I see both computers. Can't do
that on comp1.
When I go to my network places and and view workgroup computers on comp2 i
see both computers. When I try to do this on comp1 I get an error message
saying "MSoffice is not accessible. You might not have permission to use
this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out
if you have access permissions. The network path was not found?"
Any ideas?

If you:
# Can see another computer by running "net view".
# Cannot access the other computer.
# Cannot ping the other computer.

I'd first suspect a personal firewall problem.

And check both computers for needed network components and services.

Or provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each computer, so we can
diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow
instructions precisely (download browstat!):

I had a similar problem. Turned out to be due to the ZoneAlarm firewall.
You might try uninstalling and then reinstalling, while the network is
running.
