XP= eXtra Problems

Ralph H.

well after reading through a hundred pages of this
dribble, and not seeing a single reasonable answer... I
am to assume that M$ sold this garbage, and isnt going to
help us out.
My printer(s) both worked perfectly on my W98se... now I
can force a test page from them, but print ??? hahaha ..
not now ! I love the performance my PC got from the XP
Pro version, but seems the support for our periferals is
in Bill's toilet , and headed for the Pacific beaches.
I went to Epson, and Lexmark... and got the XP/2000/NT
drivers, did a registry alteration to try to force the
acceptance of them , but nothing works, and NO Driver
Updates work, or are passed out to us end users.
Best of luck to all who must endure this,

Did you keep the printers connected to the PC during the upgrade? Or is this
is new PC? Are the printers connected via USB or LPT ports?

If it was an upgrade installation, and you kept the printers connected to
the PC during the upgrade, the drivers are probably corrupted.

See http://www.coribright.com/Windows/Article Two.htm for detailed
instruction on how to uninstall and reinstall correctly.

Since you don't tell us the manufacturer/models of the printers in question
it's impossible to point you in the direction of the latest drivers.
