Words I type are being saved in the search bar! I dont want them there!

When I type in something into the search bar, such
as "monster" the next time I go to the search bar to look
for something else that starts with the same letter, the
word such as "monster" appears again. I dont want my
computer remembering this stuff. Its a destraction. My
friend told me to go to TOOLS and click on internet
options. Then to clear history, cookies, and all files.
That didnt do anything. I need help ASAP. Thanks so
much.
