Windows XP SP2 Version 2002 and Client for Micorsoft Networks LAN

I want to change the property of my LAN. I want to add Client for Microsoft
Networks. I click in box and click OK. But I get message,
"Your current selection wil also disable the following components:
Client for Microsoft Networks
Are you sure? Yes or No.

It is already disabled, but I want to enable. I am signed on as administrator.

Does anyone know what could possible be causing this.

It is almost as the LAN properties believes that Client for Microsoft
Networks is already checked.

The LAN connection has become corrupted and must be deleted and
re-created:

1. Go to Device Manager.

2. Right-click and un-install the network adapter for the LAN.

3. Click "Action" | "Scan for hardware changes" to re-install the
network adapter.

Thanks for response. I actually found it from you in another thread. I was
able to make my changes.
I did remove all network adapters and then reinstalled.
I am having trouble with my wireless now. I am able to connect to wireless
signal, but can not access the internet.
Any suggestions?

You're welcome, Steve. I only suggested un-installing the network
adapter for the LAN, not all of the network adapters.

Without any information about your wireless network setup, it's hard
to say what's wrong. Make sure that the settings are right: SSID, WEP
or WPA, encryption key, etc. See if the wireless connection is
getting a proper IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS
server address.

Thanks again. I had to uninstall my Microsoft Broadbanding Network and
re-install. Then got message of problem with this product and sp2. So I had
to update and then had to reset router wep key. Works fine now.

As I was re-installing above, I came to a message that said that file and
print sharing was not set up or installed on this pc, and did I want to do
that now. At that time I didn't want to, so I skipped that step.

But now, If I want to installed file and printer sharing on the pc, how
would I go about that?
