Cannot Enable Client For Microsoft Networks or Sharing

Hello,

I'm running XP Pro, and looking at my wireless network card's
properties. Under the Client/Service/Protocol list, titled "This
connection uses the following items" , both Client for Microsoft
Networks and File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks are
unchecked. I check them both, hit Ok, and it says:

Your current selection will also disable the following components:
Client for Microsoft Networks
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks

Are you sure you want to disable these component(s) ?

I've had this problem one time before, but I just reformatted. I hope
I don't have to do that again, I've already formatted three times in
the last week alone. Thanks in advance.
