Windows Mail - Cant delete one email in outbox with attachment

I am experiencing the same problem. Is there anywhere I can get some phone
support with this problem or possibly someone who would be willing to walk me
through this nightmare. I am trying what has been suggested, but I am
aparently going wrong somewhere. I am not a very good tech guy...

Thanks gary. I tried it, but I do not know my incoming server, and I have
all of my e-mails and address for work on windows mail as it is. I would
really like to get the problem fixed. I just need some tech support. Is
there anyway I could be directed to someone that could go through the process
with me on the phone? I really need to fix this thing, but I am falling
short so far.

I'm assuming that you would be installing Windows Live Mail (WLM) on
the same computer that has Windows Mail (WM) installed. If so, WLM
will automatically import all the accounts, settings and emails from WM.
You shouldn't have to supply any information.

I don't know where you can get over-the-phone technical support for
Windows Mail. You could try the computer manufacturer's customer support,
but unless you get the right tech (one who reads this newsgroup), you won't
get much help. Any 'fix' you *do* receive could be short-lived, meaning the
same problem could develop again. There is no permanent fix yet.

I tried to move the folders where the messages were stored. Then I went back
into windows mail and it said there were no matching files in the new folder
that i selected... also, after moving the folders with the email messagesin
it, am i supposed to re-install windows mail or just shut it down and restart
it? cause i did the latter and it still didn't work... dazed and
confused....am I!

I will leave it up to Steve to follow-up on your concern.

However, if I may editorialize for a few seconds:
I think it is a rather daunting task for non-technical users to
expect them to flawlessly carry out the machinations of this 'fix',
when there are easier and better alternatives available.

The way I have found after trying just about everthing else is to delete from
inbox and then goto deleted items and right click and then to empty deleted
items it took some time as it only deletes one message at a time and I had
around 70 I hope it works

thanks, I agree, I am not a computer programmer or even close.... cant wait
til this is "fixed". I DID find one way around it though... the messae that I
cannot delete sits in my OUTBOX, so it prevents me from sending or receiving
messages from my DEFAULT mailbox, BUT I used anotehr email address in the
same account and am able to send and receive using the new mailbox.. don't
know why it works, but it does, for now anyway. I just get a MESSAGE BOX
everytime I try to send or receive asking me if I want to use my default or
not... but at least I am not disconnected from the world temporarily. looking
forward to Steve's reply...

In my view, Windows Live Mail is *JUNK* and not worth the time to download.
The utility to import mail from Microsoft Mail does NOT work, leaving all
your mail trapped there.

I tried this. The program comes up with all buttons ghosted. The only text on
the GUI suggests that you bring down Microsoft Mail in order to enable, but I
verified, reverified and even re-booted the system, but the buttons never
activate.

Bottom line: this "fix" does not work.

It's a shame that Microsoft would choose to "pass the buck" as it were on a
problem with software THEY wrote. This is not Toshiba's problem.

Macs are looking better all the time.

Right click on the Taskbar, select Task Manager, Processes tab, click Show
processes from all users, OK UAC, does WinMail.exe show up? If highlight
WinMail.exe and press End Process button. Then try the utility again.

Are you sure you are talking about the new version that was released on May 30th?
Many have reported here that the new WLM works fine for them. It works fine for
me too, and it automatically imported all my WM mail and settings.
Being a beta, WLM still has bugs, but I find it to be less buggy than WM.
Furthermore, Microsoft is pro-actively soliciting feedback for WLM, and is
working on improving it, which is something I can't say for WM.
