Windows Explorer Errors

I keep getting:

Explorer.exe has generated errors and will be closed by
Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error
log is being generated.

Winlogon Event ID=1002: The shell stopped unexpectedly and
Explorer.exe was restarted.

The KB says to uninstall IE6! Has anybody found a better
answer than this?

I have Win2K / SP4, IE6
I don't have Allaire Homesite or Cold Fusion or Norton
Clean Sweep, or Caere, or mapped drives

Nope that is what you have to do. Actually the reason why, is because of Cumulative Updates to Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 that came out in the earlier part of 2003. By returning to a prior version of Microsoft Internet Explorer in Windows 2000 and then running sfc /purgecache /scannow and then reapplying your current Service Pack version and then reinstalling Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and then installing the November 2003 Cumulative update rebooting after each step, you'll likely stop this issue. And then if all this fails Start | Run | regsvr32 /u thumbvw.dll
