Windows 7 email program?

Hi Gary,
You told me that before, and I used it to put Windows Mail on my W7 machine
over a month ago. My question is how to apply the 2 patches that I've
downloaded and saved in a folder. They have stuff like this inside:

============================================

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

; default
handler ------------------------------------------------------------

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\RegisteredApplications]
"Windows Mail"="Software\\Clients\\Mail\\Windows Mail\\Capabilities"
"Windows Mail (News)"="Software\\Clients\\News\\Windows Mail\\Capabilities"

; mailto
link ----------------------------------------------------------------

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto]
@="URL:Mail Protocol"
"EditFlags"=dword:00080000
"URL Protocol"=""

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mailto\DefaultIcon]
@=hex(2):25,00,50,00,72,00,6f,00,67,00,72,00,61,00,6d,00,46,00,69,00,6c,00,65,\
00,73,00,25,00,5c,00,57,00,69,00,6e,00,64,00,6f,00,77,00,73,00,20,00,4d,00,\
61,00,69,00,6c,00,5c,00,57,00,69,00,6e,00,4d,00,61,00,69,00,6c,00,2e,00,65,\

Like any other data file, you simply double-click on those two .reg
files. Windows knows what to do with them.

Hi Gary,
I now use alt.windows7.general in aioe.org to deal with W7 issues.
I've been using Windows Mail for a month now, and I finally downloaded the
patches. I'm finding not having the links to Windows Mail more than a
little annoying. But I have no idea how to install them. TIA, Paul

Not sure which one of the three links you mean.

I don't know of any way to get escalated support from Microsoft.

Be sure to post your issue to the two forums I gave you. Some user
may have resolved that issue already.
Also, here is a third help forum:

I am not computer literate, but I need my Windows Mail back.  I cannot deal with Windows Classic very well.  Or at least is there something comperable to Windows Mail
