Windows 2000 Shutdown Issue

K

Kanchan Das

On some of the computers in our office, when we choose
shut down it actually does not down the power, instead it
says, "It is okay to shutdown your computer now". Then we
have to hit the power switch to actually shut it down.
Most of the computers though, shut down directly.

I have checked the bios and they are same. ACPI is on all
of them.

I can't figure out the difference.

I'll bet you every computer where this occurs was a Windows 98SE upgrade?

You gotta go into screen saver and click on Power. Then
enable Advanced Power Mgmt support in APM tab.

If that doesn't work, buy a new PC.
