Power-off after Shutdown

My PC doesn't automatically power off after I select the
shutdown command. It brings me instead to a "It's safe to
shutdown" screen, whereby I have to physically press the
power button to shut it off.

I don't think it's an ACPI problem, as I had Windows ME on
this machine before, and it powered down fine.

I *think* this is what fixes it. "Start->Settings->Control Panel->Power
Options". Next, select the APM tab and then check "Enable Advanced
Power Management Support". I'm pretty sure that does it.

I don't see any "APM" tab there, nor "Enable Advanced Power Management
Support"

Look for this regisrty key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\PowerdownAfterShutdown

The value should be 1.
